Dr DY Patil College of Ayurveda

Dr DY Patil College of Ayurveda has made its presence too flee across the country. Due to its excellence in academics and clinical services in the program of ayurveda. Due to this excellence the institute got ‘A’ grade accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2016.The institute has received 3rd cycle accreditation by NAAC with a CGPA of 3.64 on four-point scale at A++ Grade.

Dr DY Patil College of Ayurveda is a private institute that was established in the year 1999. The institute is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. Dr DY Patel Ayurveda College and Hospital has been located just behind the DY Patil Medical Campus. The institute is well-equipped and wide in range; it has provided all the modern amenities including Laboratories, Lecture halls, auditorium and offices according to the minimum standards requirements of central council of indian medicine(CCIM) norms.

The institute is located in Sant Tukaram Nagar, Pimpri, Pune and the land spans over 42.5 acres. The institute is approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicine. Being an affiliated college it has provided 15 courses across 3 degree programmes. The total student count is 766 and faculty strength of the institution is 92. Furthermore, maintaining a disciplined student and faculty ratio provides a decent conducive and learning-friendly atmosphere within the campus.

The institution has offered all the ayurvedic programmes with 15 full-time undergraduates and postgraduates. In the UG program the course offered is Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) providing 100 seats. And for the spacious post graduates level ranges from 6-12 in the mainstream like: MD Sanskrit Samhita, MD Rachana Sharir, MD Kayachikitsa, MS Strirog and Prasutitantra, and MD Bal Rog.

The mission of Dr DY Patil College of Ayurveda is to provide a high standard of education by blending traditional ayurvedic wisdom with contemporary medical science. The institution aims to develop skills, ethical, and socially responsible Ayurvedic physicians through quality teaching, Clinical training, research, and Community health services.

The institute wishes to preserve and develop the science of ayurveda while contributing to holistic, preventive, and sustainable healthcare at national and global levels.

• Dr DY Patil College of Ayurveda is highly recognized, it is the only ayurveda college in India that has received A++ Grade from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in its third cycle (CGPA 3.64 on a four-point scale). The institute has also scored high ranking in national inspections and global impact ranking.

• The campus has provided state-of-the-art facilities, including the well-organised lab, spacious library, with classical texts, modern research centres, and a sprawling herbal garden with over 300 medicinal plants. The institute provided a large 350 bed hospital offering a wide range of practical exposure to the students.

• The associated hospital offers extensive treatment and modern diagnostics facilities, such as: ICU, NICU, State-of-the-art operation theatres, and specialized clinics for PCOD, pain management, and a dedicated paralysis treatment unit.

• Generally, the hospital is well-equipped, the in-house clinical laboratories are operating hours and need to rely on other sources for round-the-clock emergency diagnostics services such as CT/MRI equipment are not so worthy a challenge.

• Some patient feedback on the hospital as the patients has mentioned potential issues in the queue management and irregular delays in the treatment or diagnosis.

• Despite showing efforts in the research and innovation to prove the efficacy of ayurvedic treatments furnishing to global acceptance it becomes an ongoing challenge for the whole field of ayurveda within the wider scientific community.
