About AAMC

Alvas Ayurveda Medical College was founded by Dr. M. Mohan Alva, was established in 1996. His dream was to promote a quality of professional education in the small town Moodbidri. The college is managed by Alva’s Education Foundation. The 18 years of academic journey is a saga and it is offering standard medical education in the Indian system of medicine that is attracting the students from various parts of India and Abroad.

In the beginning of the BAMS (4.5 Years and 1 year internship) the seat intake was 60, and now for its successive results the seat intake for the program has increased to 100. After serving for 10 years the curriculum added PG Course in 2 disciplines namely Dravyaguna Vijnana and Shalya Tantra from 2006. There after 2010-11, 5 more specialities were added. The PG program seat undertaken is 185 for 15 specialties.

The campus size is about 41 acres of land. The college AAMC is private, the campus is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). The college is approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicine. The faculty count of the AAMC College is 727, the college is ranked in 92 position, and it has got “B” grade.

The AAMC college has provided various broad facilities to the students in the studies purpose: Spacious Lecture Halls, Laboratories, Teaching Hospital and Clinical Training, Herbal Garden, Library & Learning Resources, Research and Academic Enrichment, and Students support facilities.
