SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Hassan.

SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Hassan was established in 1992, it originally existed to bring the education of Ayurveda. The founder of the college is Dr. D. Veerandra Heggade. It was understood at the time that the ayurveda brings back contemporary life. The SDM College being a facilitative institution it has probably provided quality of education, as well as provided expertise exposure. 

The college has given thousands of energetic young professionals to spread out the ayurvedic message in multiple ways. The SDM College is managed by the SDM Educational Society. The College has become one of the most popular among the other colleges as it has produced UG and PG level education throughout India. 

The college has offered BAMS UG, MD/MS (PG) courses, whereas the college undertakes seats annually. The seats taken are : BAMS - 100, MD/MS - 69. The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore (RGUHS). It has been recognised/approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM). 

The SDM College spans around 40 acres of land, which includes : College Building, Hostel Building, Cafeteria, Laboratories, herbal Garden, Attached Teaching Hospital and research center.  The BAMS (UG) program runs for 5 years and 6 months, and MD/MS works for 3 years which undertakes 15 specialities programs in it.
