The Government of Karnataka established Chamarajanagar Institute of Medical Sciences, Chamarajanagar in 2016 with an aim of building the WHO goal "Health for all” reach the stage at a high standard which possibly makes a good level for the health and well - being of all age with a preventive and productive health system in the upgrade policies, and access towards universal of good quality of healthcare and serve without having any financial effort as a consequences.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process : 

The UG and PG courses that are undertaken by the CIMS Chamarajanagar. The eligible candidates will be guided based on their merits obtained in their respective entrance exam. The merit-based seat allotment for MBBS, MD/MS Program, the counselling process will be conducted by the KEA-Karnataka Examination Authority. Eligibility Criteria:

MBBS 

• The candidates belonging to general category and joining the MBBS Program must have qualified in the core subjects :Physics, Chemistry, Biology with English Language of  50% aggregate.

• For the reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC) must have qualified with an aggregate of 40% in the above mentioned subjects.

• The candidates must be 17 years old or should have crossed 17 years before the 31st December.

MD/MS 

• The candidates joining the MD/MS Program must uphold an MBBS Degree with an aggregate of 50% from an identified medical college.

• The candidates must have completed the one year mandatory rotary residential internship before the prescribed admission date.

• The age limit to join must be 17 years old or must have crossed the age before the 31st December.

Admission Process 

To join the MBBS, MD/MS Program, follow the below mentioned admission process of CIMS, Chamarajanagar : 

MBBS

• The candidates need to clear the NEET-UG entrance exam conducted by the NTA and get qualified in it.

• Once the candidates are qualified, they get registered in the KEA official portal for counselling.

• Seat allotment process will be based on the candidates score in NEET UG, reservation category, and quota (Government / Private / NRI).

Strength

• Strong Clinical Foundation : The affiliated institution has an access of 450 bedded attached government teaching hospitals (newly established) which offers a high patient flow of clinical training.

• Development in infrastructure : Meanwhile, the campus is new, but the campus is still in the developing process and some amenities are not yet completed. 

• Remote Location : The composite situated in the center of the district, may have a little recreational, transport, or advanced amenities when compared to city colleges. 

• Hostel Life & Academics : The students report that the mess food and adjustment in strict campus can be challenging for the academic.
