SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi

The SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi is known to be the premier Ayurvedic academics and healthcare Institutions. It is a private institution and it was started by Dr. D. Veerandra Heggade, and it is managed by the Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational Society (SDME Society). 

The SDM College was established in 1958 and it is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore and it is one of the Best BAMS Colleges In Bangalore. The institution is recognised/approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicine, works under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. 

The SDM College spans 21 acres of green land, under which it involves : College building, Hostel Building, Cafeteria, area allotted for sports, Auditorium and so on. The college has offered BAMS (UG), and MD/MS (PG) Program to the students. The seat intake for the BAMS is 100 and for MD/MS is 71. 

The SDM College Udupi, has offered BAMS programs for 5 years and 6 months. The college has offered classroom learning along with training for students as practical and a mandatory internship. Additionally, the PG course offers specialities and research opportunities in the field of Ayurveda Samhita, Roga Nidana, Panchakarma and Dravyaguna and many more. 

The curriculum has offered an extensive clinical exposure with a well-maintained attached teaching hospital, outpatient departments (OPD) to the students. The hospital has a bed capacity of 120 where it manages both Ayurvedic therapies with modern diagnostics.
