Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad

The Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad commonly known as IIT Dharwad was established in 2016 by the Government of India, the institute is located in Dharwad, Karnataka, a city known for its calm learning environment in the northern part of the state. IIT Dharwad was initially mentored by IIT Bombay and has gradually developed its own academic and administrative identity, at the undergraduate level, the institute offers B.Tech courses such as Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Engineering Physics, the curriculum is structured to build strong fundamentals in Mathematics, Science, and Core Engineering subjects, while also helping students develop practical problem solving skills and real exposure through regular lab work and project based learning.

The permanent campus of IIT Dharwad is spread over 470 acres and continues to develop with modern academic blocks, laboratories, hostels, a central library, and student activity spaces, even as the newest IIT, the institute places emphasis on research learning, faculty student interaction and exposure to real world engineering challenges, in terms of B.Tech placements. IIT Dharwad has shown a consistent growing number of companies visiting the campus annually, as per recent placement reports the highest domestic salary packages have reached over INR 50+ Lakhs per annum, and the average/median packages hover around INR 12-14 Lakhs per annum for B.Tech graduates with recruiters coming from IT, core engineering and technology sectors, these reflect the institute’s expanding industry connections and the increasing recognition of its academic programmes.
