The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Dharwad (IIIT Dharwad) is one of India’s new generation technology institutes established in 2015 as an Institute of National Importance under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, along with the Government of Karnataka and industry partners. Located in the academic hub of Hubballi, Dharwad, Karnataka, the institute has quickly built a reputation for focused education in emerging computing disciplines and modern engineering research, spread across a modern 60 acre campus, IIIT Dharwad was designed as a dedicated technology environment with academic blocks, hostels, research spaces and collaborative learning areas to support innovation driven education, the institute aims to produce globally competent IT professionals capable of solving real world problems using technology while maintaining ethical and societal responsibility.

Academically, the institute offers specialized B.Tech programs in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, along with postgraduate opportunities. Admissions to undergraduate programs are conducted through JoSAA counselling based on JEE Main scores, ensuring national level competition and merit based intake and for  postgraduate it is conducted by CCMT based on GATE Scores.
