Bidar Institute of Medical Science, Bidar is an institution name that has been abbreviated as BRIMS. The college was formed in 2005 by the government of Karnataka. It eventually has a teaching hospital along with a medical college in Bidar, Karnataka. The college is working under the Government of Karnataka, and has been identified by the MCI / NMC, meanwhile it is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Karnataka.

Officially the hospital needed to be set up with a strengthening of 300 beds and later it got upgraded to expand teaching hospitals into 750 beds. The newly stabilized building has eight floors with different departments. It contains: OTs, Central Lab, newly emerged instruments, which existed in 2017. The composite has offered UG and PG courses in different fields.

The seat intake for the MBBS was probably 100 but annually it got increased to 150 by 2017. The admission process will take place through NEET-UG. PG seats will go on the basis of the specialisations like: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Microbiology, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology and OBG. The students of BRIMS are benefited with the facilities for a broad range in the medical field by the associated teaching hospital.

As the teaching hospital which treats 1000 patients daily, the students will be able to gain hands-on experience, Practical Training, diagnostic abilities, and special competence for students. The college spans 45 acres within this campus size. The institution has provided equipment with necessary infrastructure and facilities which is most important for medical education. Eligibility Criteria And Admission Process:

MBBS

• The candidates belonging to general category and joining the MBBS Program must have qualified in the core subjects :Physics, Chemistry, Biology with English Language of  50% aggregate.

• For the reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC) must have qualified with an aggregate of 40% in the above mentioned subjects.

• The candidates must be 17 years old or should have crossed 17 years before the 31st December.

MD/MS

• The candidates joining the MD/MS Program must uphold an MBBS Degree with an aggregate of 50% from an identified medical college.

• The candidates must have completed the one year mandatory rotary residential internship before the prescribed admission date.

• The age limit to join must be 17 years old or must have crossed the age before the 31st December.

Admission Process

• The candidates need to clear the NEET-UG entrance exam conducted by the NTA and get qualified in it.
